Mentech’s corporate strategy is based on extending the lifespan of electronic products as much as possible. Our assumption is that our electronics will have a new life instead of ending up in the trash. If the defective electronics cannot be saved, we ensure that they are scrapped properly and in an environmentally friendly manner.
By repairing and reusing electronics, we avoid producing new goods. This means that we reduce CO2 emissions and reduce the depletion of the earth’s resources. We ensure that a circular economy is created, where resources that would otherwise have ended up in the trash become part of the value chain and are incorporated into production again.

Recycling
The concept of Mentech ECO differs from the use-and-throw-away culture. Therefore, we use functional components to repair defective electronics, renew them and send them back to the consumer through repair or sale. If there is no possibility to give the electronics new life, Mentech helps with proper and environmentally friendly disposal.
Repair and Service
At Mentech, we handle over 100,000 electronic repairs annually. This means that we save the environment from approximately 50,000 tons of CO2 emissions by repairing, refurbishing, and reselling electronics, thereby reducing the need for new production. We repair and service all types of mobile phones, tablets, computers, and other electronics. We are authorized service providers for Apple, Samsung, Huawei, Acer, Motorola, and Gorunner.
Consumption
Over 90% of Danish households have computers and smartphones. In 2016, surveys showed that up to 60% of Danes tended to replace their mobile phone to get the latest top model. However, it seems that more people today keep their phone for more than 3 years. Mentech ECO’s mission is to meet people’s needs and desire to renew their electronic products in an environmentally friendly way.
Production of new electronics
When producing new electronics, valuable raw materials must be processed. Most electronics, for example, consist of metals that are only found in limited quantities and often in areas such as China or Africa. The raw materials are often extracted there under environmentally and health-damaging conditions, which also require a lot of energy.
Distribution
When finished products need to be transported from the production site to the final distribution channel, which will resell to the consumer, it is also a significant climate burden. In Denmark alone, trucks emit nearly 2 million tons of CO2 annually.

We take the functional components in your IT scrap with value to produce new consumer electronics. IT scrap without value is handled with ECO Wipe.
Ultrasonic Cleaning
Our modern Ultrasonic Lab can clean liquid-damaged electronics and give them a new lease on life. Payment is only made upon successful cleaning.

Goal 7: Sustainable energy.
The future – exclusively renewable energy sources? Mentech and Mentech ECO have 100% green energy at all service locations.
We want to take responsibility for creating a world that only runs on green energy without exceptions. Especially since 80% of the world’s energy consumption is still fossil fuels. Therefore, all our departments in Denmark, Norway and Sweden now exclusively use electricity from renewable energy sources.
To make this possible, we have spent a lot of time in 2020 and 2021 drawing up new green electricity contracts.
The agreements have been made with the supply market on a Nordic level in close cooperation with the energy companies Ørsted, NORLYS, Fjorkraft in Norway and E-ON in Sweden.
Goal 12: Responsible consumption and production.
Can a more responsible consumption reduce our carbon footprint?
The core of Goal 12 is our consumption patterns, our behavior, and the way we use our resources. This applies to both social, business, and societal contexts.
Here, it is particularly our contribution to sub-goal 12.5, where waste generation should be reduced through prevention, recycling, and reuse in a global context.
In addition to Mentech repairing and selling green electronics, we hope that our customers and partners build knowledge and capacity to address climate change.
Goal 13: Climate Action.
CO2-neutral websites, green shipping, and environmentally friendly packaging – the new standard?
In addition to repairing and selling green electronics, Mentech hopes to build knowledge and capacity to address climate change. Our current efforts within this goal include climate partnerships, CO2-neutral websites, green shipping, and environmentally friendly packaging.
CO2-neutral shipping and packages Mentech’s products are packaged securely in environmentally friendly packaging. When a package needs to be transported from one place to another, some form of CO2 emissions cannot be avoided. Therefore, we have entered into an agreement with Post Nord, where we reduce CO2 emissions from the delivery through extra payment for shipping.
CO2-neutral website & Growing Trees Network Foundation. Both Mentech and Mentech ECO now have CO2-neutralized websites. We participate in a Danish climate initiative that aims for companies, regardless of size and industry, to collaborate in neutralizing the CO2 emissions from their websites.
The reason behind the “CO2-neutral website” initiative is that internet and computer use today cause more CO2 emissions than, for example, air travel. Additionally, 15% of Mentech ECO’s profits go towards planting trees. In collaboration with the Growing Trees Network Foundation, Mentech has planted almost 500 trees in Denmark over the last two years.
We are proud that at Mentech A/S we have joined the UN’s
Global Compact and Global Compact Network Denmark,
which recently launched the world’s largest Corporate
Sustainability initiative, and the largest Danish network for
green businesses.
Responsibility and sustainable development We look forward
to supporting the network’s goals and helping to set the
standard for responsibility and sustainable development in
the private sector. As part of the Global Compact, we are
committed to upholding the Global Compact’s 10 principles
within human rights, labor rights, environment and
anti-corruption, as well as committing to the UN’s 17
Sustainable Development Goals.
